Top 10 US cities to visit during the Fourth of July

Celebrate July 4th differently this year by traveling to one of these top cities in the US that are known for their amazing firework displays, American history, parades, festivals and more!:

  1. Nashville Join Nashville for Let Freedom Sing, a big celebration with a free concert and more! This year, Martina McBride and fireworksMilly Ekko will be the performers at Music City during the celebration. The firework show will light up Downtown Nashville with more than 30,000 fireworks produced by Pyro Shows, Inc. During the fireworks display, Nashville Symphony’s original medley of songs will be performed live and choreographed to the show, lasting 27 minutes- the longest in Nashville history!
  2. Washington DCThe fireworks display in Washington DC is administered by the National Park Service and illuminates the landmarks, including the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial and the Thomas Jefferson Memorial. The show is accompanied every year by live music from “A Capitol Fourth,” that is held on the U.S. Capitol’s West Lawn.  Before the show, be sure to catch the National Independence Day Parade to see all the floats, marching bands and military units. The parade takes place on Constitution Avenue and travels from 7th to 17th Street.
  3. San Diego: Big Bay Boom-The largest display in the county, with fireworks launched from four barges around North San Diego Bay. The fireworks can be seen from Shelter Island, Harbor Island, the Embarcadero area and Seaport Village/Coronado Landing. What is better than relaxing with loved ones on a beach and watching an amazing fireworks show!?
  4. Las Vegas Fourth of July in Las Vegas lasts from the 1st to the 4th. Many hotels along the strip will be having a fireworks show including Caesars Palace, The LINQ, the Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower (they also host a pool party) and Fireworks by Grucci will be shot from the hotel’s Roman Tower. Grab a seat at a restaurant or a bar on the strip to see the fireworks all over the valley.
  5. Dallas- In Dallas, you will find Fair Park Fourth, a free admission festival where you get to celebrate America’s birth. The celebration begins with a morning 7k/4k race and ends with a fireworks display. In between, you can enjoy live music, explore the historic Fair Park, enjoy the State Fair of Texas Midway, go on rides, eat local food and listen to live concerts.
  6. New York City– NYC delivers a great patriotic experience. Their amazing fireworks display lights up the night skyline. During the day you can walk Central Park, check out Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest- a nearly century-long tradition held on the 4th of July each year or take the Big Onion Walking Tours, which tours significant NYC landmarks from the Revolutionary War.
  7. Chicago-The city is packed with Fourth of July parties. Experience the fireworks at the Navy Pier, where they light up the skyline along the Windy City lakefront. Celebrate American History by visiting the Chicago History Museum to listen to a live reading of the Declaration of Independence, Americana music performances and a children’s costume parade. You can also check out Independence Day bashes from Wrigleyville to The Loop.
  8. Mount Rushmore– This 2-day celebration is full of patriotism. Each year during the day you can find music provided by local musicians, performances along the Avenue of Flags, Military honors, a flag folding ceremony, Declaration of Independence reading, a US Air Force flyover and the monument lighting. The entire celebration is dedicated to veterans and active duty members of the military.
  9. Boston– Concerts take place in the historic Hatch Shell during the day. At night, 10,000 fireworks are launched from 7 barges along the banks of the Charles River. During the free Boston Pops Fireworks, you can find half a million viewers watching this spectacle.
  10. San Francisco– Enjoy a large firework display over the bay and all around the waterfront. There are 2 sets of fireworks that takes place at the same time, one at the end of the Municipal Pier and the other in front of Pier 39. Activities will take place all day around Pier 39, including ferry rides, the Fillmore Street Festival, a free concert in Stern Grove Park and Oakland Athletics baseball.
