Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day In Chicago, Illinois!

St. Patrick’s Day is coming up and weekend celebrations will start taking place on Saturday, March 14th in many cities, so start planning your trip today!

This St. Patrick’s Day, plan a road trip to Chicago, Illinois where they host big events, traditions and parades all weekend long. There are also many Red Roof Inns nearby that you can stay at during St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

  • First, experience the most famous event, watch Chicago turn their whole river green! Of course, only eco-friendly vegetable dye is used. This event will take place on Saturday at 10:45 am and the dye will last in the river for around 5 hours. This event has been a tradition for over 50 years.   • Next, check out the largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the country in Downtown Chicago. The parade takes place at 12 pm on Saturday on Grant Park along Columbus Drive, from Balbo to Monroe Drive and is around 3 hours long. See step dancers, colorful floats, bag pipers and more!
  • Take a St. Patrick’s Day Cruise where you get to cruise the green waters of the Chicago River while enjoying an Irish buffet, music and dancing.
