For those of you that may not know, my job includes quite a bit of travel, which is something I love. I will be traveling to all of our Red Roofs which is about 360 inns around the United States. I will get the opportunity to visit a lot of very cool cities some I have never been to before.
This past week, I visited our property in Secaucus, New Jersey. My stay at the property was great! The rooms were recently renovated, which made my stay even more delightful. There was a river behind the inn which was nicer than being surrounded by a parking lot.
However my stay made me realize one thing, I need to put on my big girl pants and go out and experience the places I am at. We were only a few miles from New York City and one of the Front Desk Guest Service Representatives was nice enough to give me a free bus voucher they had. Usually I find myself to be on independent girl however I think I was overwhelmed by the city. New York City is defiantly a big city and in Columbus I rarely use the bus system.
My next big trip is to San Antonio in January and I have made a promise to myself that I will be a little more adventurous (I sense a New Year’s Resolution in the making!). I will take some time before my trip and become a bit more prepared for my travels and know where I want to go and how I can get there. Plus I am sure these blogs would be much more exciting with a ton of pictures of awesome cities rather than me watching “The Voice” in my hotel room (even if the decked out with some great Nextgen designs). The next time I am in New York City, I vow to embrace a little more of my Carrie Bradshaw side – and be a single gal in the city, looking for my next big adventure. – Sarah
